Sanitation & Environment
PCSW&HR also has been working with UNICEF in Sanitation and Environment project. The purpose of this project was to promote the household latrine, safe drinking water and to create awareness on fundamental human health issues. In this project, PCSW&HR and hands pumps were installed to provide the facility of safe and clean water to the peoples of these villages conducted so many public latrines. During the last five years, Sanitation week is also being observed by PCSW&HR in its working Area with the collaboration of District Government and its others partners. Every year to observe the Sanitation week PCSW&HR organizes walks and ceremonies with the collaboration of local government, to highlights the importance of cleanness with Islamic point of view.
Health Education for Women
Pakistan Council for Social Welfare & Human Rights also accomplished project “Health Education for Women” with the collaboration of Green star Social Marketing – Pakistan. During this project:
- 6089 women were informed about reproductive health through home visits by field staff of PCSWHR.
- 320 Orientation Meetings for women were arranged and during these meeting 3613 women were orientated regarding women & reproductive health, child health, and importance of Family Planning.
- 167 Orientation Meeting with men were arranged and during these meeting 1683 men were orientated regarding reproductive health including Aids, Hepatitis, Family Planning etc.
- 4 Health/FP camps were arranged at different Clinics and during these camps 284 women were provided health and FP services.
- 1119 women were also imparted information about importance of small family norm and Access to Family Planning Methods/Clinics
